Pleasant Hill Excavators is a fourth generation family business. Our values are based around quality excavation, construction related services for our clients. We also have a commitment to our local community and The Town of Hollis that continues to this day.

We were founded by J. Ansel Hanson, beginning in 1924 and originally run as J. Ansel Hanson, General Contractor. Ansel's was involved in local & civic roles including, Road Commissioner for The Town Of Hollis, Tree Warden, Town of Hollis Selectman, Budget Committee Member, Odd Fellows member, and Riverside Cemetery Association Committee.

Ansel's son, Robert M. Hanson, started working for the company in 1955. Robert was Road Commissioner in Hollis for 35 years from 1973-2008 and a Maine Rhodes Scholar

In 1987, the company named changed to Pleasant Hill Excavators. It is a division of RMDL, Inc.

Robert (Rob) joined Pleasant Hill Excavators in 1991. He currently is the Road Commissioner in Hollis and has been since 2008.

Rebecca Hanson Bowley

Rebecca (Becky) joined Pleasant Hill Excavators in 1995. She is also actively involved in The Town of Hollis and local school administration. From 1989 to 2004, she was on the SAD # 6 School Board. From 2004 to 2009, she was a Budget Committee Member for the Town of Hollis, She rejoined the SAD # 6 School Board in 2009 and left in 2018. Since 1986, she has been a member of Town of Hollis Board of Appeals. She was also the past president of the Hillcrest Cemetery Association
